Coping with Life during COVID-19

Humor

Find something funny to laugh at every day. Laughter keeps things in perspective, and even boosts the immune system!

Set a self-care routine and stick to it

  • Go for a walk with your loved one, your dog, or yourself, and breathe some fresh air. Its been shown that the soil microbes that are wind borne make it harder for other infective diseases to stick to surfaces and can inhibit infection. Not to mention the value of being outside in the sunshine! (Just keep a distance of 6 feet. Wear a mask if you have symptoms)
  • Get up and put on your most cozy clothes! There’s a joke about “ I’m working at home, and now have daytime pajamas and nighttime pajamas.” While funny, it’s important to feel as if you are connected to others by dressing the part

Instill habits that defeat the virus

  • Drink warm drinks, not cold ones. Even if you crave cold drinks, it is possible to delay viral replication by keeping your drinks warm
  • Take your antivirals and immune-boosting supplements. This can get old, but this is your best way to prevent getting a viral infection.
  • Avoid ibuprofen while science studies the effects on this virus.

Connect with others
